We provide long and short term residential care for a total of 27 residents. Making our residents lives happy and fulfilling is very important to us and we arrange many activities to encourage residents to remain physically, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and socially active.
Each resident has a tailored personal care plan detailing the support and care they require and this is reviewed regularly. We like residents and their families to be involved with care planning and welcome questions.
Families and friends are important to our residents and we encourage them to visit at any time and also to join in our activities. Residents are free to enjoy the privacy of their own rooms or sit with friends in one of our lounges or the conservatory which faces the garden.
Meals are served in the dining room and there is always a choice available but if residents prefer meals in their own rooms then we are happy to oblige.
Our Activities Co-Ordinator, assisted by the Welfare Committee and staff, arranges a varied and interesting programme of activities which includes:
Art & craft classes, gardening, music and movement, games, quizzes, singing, coffee mornings, trips out, shopping, Bible based presentations, DVDs and films…
A monthly activity list informs all of the residents and the local Christadelphian ecclesias of the events planned for each month.
Likewise, daily Bible readings, a weekly Bible Class, Bible talks, prayers, hymn singing and a Sunday supplementary Breaking of Bread service are held regularly in Fair Haven to care for the spiritual needs of Christadelphian residents. Residents of other faiths will be supported to attend their churches if appropriate.
We look forward to residents telling us what they would like to see planned or changed in the daily life of Fair Haven. To help facilitate this we hold regular communication meetings to discuss life at Fair Haven and to keep everyone informed.
