Retirement Flats
With retirement, there sometimes comes the wish to take life a little easier, and to seek relief from the hard work necessary to properly maintain a house and garden. In recent years there has been a rapid increase in the popularity of retirement accommodation in which residents can maintain their privacy behind their own front doors in flats or apartments. This is exactly what the CCH retirement accommodation provides.
Occupiers of the one and two-bedroomed flats are relieved of the responsibility of maintaining their own home and garden whilst retaining their independence and freedom to come and go as they wish. An emergency call system means that help can be readily summoned when needed, or in an emergency. With other Christadelphians living as neighbours, security, friendship and fellowship are close at hand.
Usually there is a lounge in the development where tenants can get together for Bible readings and other communal activities. Sometimes there is a launderette for use by all. An ecclesia is within easy reach of each development.
Each flat is sold or rented on a leasehold basis to ensure that the property is properly secured by CCH for the benefit of future generations.
There is a weekly service charge to cover:
- insurance of the premises
- maintenance of the building
- maintenance of communal facilities and equipment
- emergency call service
Loans and assistance with interest payments are available for those with insufficient funds to purchase outright.
